music: "You Got Me Going in Circles" by Luther Vandross
As many of you might remember I helped the Cross family last year after Hurricane Katrina -- also, some of you helped by sending clothes. I recently sent them an email checking-in to see how things are doing a year later. In February their grandfather passed but it looks like things are getting a little better.
Things are well. We can't complain.... because they could be so much worse...
Denise and her family are still living next to my mom and Grandmother. They are still in FEMA trailers...
My mom has begun work on her home; however Denise's home had to be totally demolished because of the amount of damage it sustained...
By the way, thanks for checking on us....as it is still a test of FAITH....for the most part the pain of the hurricane and losing material things don't compare to the loss of our father....so we've come to accept the outcome of KATRINA, and are doing what we can to get some normalacy back in our lives.... but every now and again, the grief of death of our father comes into play...but again... we are still THANKFUL for each other and what we do have..
Overall, the living arrangements are what you make of them, NO its not a 4 or even 3 bedroom home that we're used to, but it is shelter (for now) and the family is home (familiar area) and around friends and other families that have been lifetime friends...so we are thankful for that.
