Violently homophobic reggae artists, and the fools who support them, are calling for a “straight pride parade” on Labor Day weekend in Brooklyn, New York.

According to Jango Fresh, an unknown reggae artist, says, "The Straight Pride Parade is a chance for heterosexuals to gather together and proudly embrace their sexuality." Wow, every where I look I see the straights embracing their sexuality—showing their affection to each other in television, music, film, street corners—just the other day at mid afternoon I saw a straight girl squeezing her man’s package on the subway!

Embracing your sexuality and wanting to embrace some Klan foolishness are two different things.

TCOOO Productions, which is heading the straight pride parade, is pulling a page directly from the Klu Klux Klan, attempting to mask their toxic ignorance with family values: "It is like we are not allowed to talk about the importance of a family anymore." When did testifying your heat-seeking desire to kill gays equate to family values?

Their latest example of hetero oppression is a song called "Hit Them Hard", which is by an artist named Stapler. Supposedly the song was climbing the charts and due to its homophobic content was pulled from radio. In addition, many of TCOOO's artists had shows canceled in Europe and the U.S. TCOOO's president whined, "I sat quietly and watched as they canceled artists like Buju Banton, Sizzla Kalonji and Capleton, but when the gay community went after TCOOO artists like Vineyard the Rebel Priest, Stapler and Jango Fresh, we decided that we must make a show of strength."

Here are the lyrical gems of "Hit Them Hard", "Jah Jah gonna hit them hard/All the men who visit men backyard/Leaving all the women to starve/One thunder ball and all of them pause." Why are all these anti-gay reggae songs obsessed with anal sex?

What these colonized, brainwashed buffoons fail to realize is that if you want to babble all of that hate in Jamaica—fine. However, in the U.S. and, especially Europe, those disgusting standards are not respected or marketable. Most of these artists solely care about the money, it is far from standing up for "family values" and more about, "I'm not talented enough to make good music so I'm mad they won't let me make a buck off this!" Plus, if you are so hetero, why spend so much time ranting about other men who surely are not interested in you?

Sadly, TCOOO Productions "is getting a lot of support for staging the Straight Pride Parade as thousands of fans have already let it be known that they will be attending the parade in August."

This is extremely disappointing considering Labor Day is a celebration of the social and economic success of the working class American. Considering the island of Jamaica suffers from so much classism, you would think these reggae artists could find something more progressive to celebrate on Labor Day weekend.

I will try not to comment if someone gets stabbed, robbed, or raped at the straight pride parade -- you know how the straights do!
