Next to a monsoon one day after a Dark & Lovely perm, white woman are the biggest threat to black women finding a good man (yeah right!). However, I am just a lil' shocked, call me naive, that in 2010 some black women are enraged that Reggie Bush is on the cover of Essence. One person commented, "Why is there a white supremacist on the cover of Essence magazine?" Really? White supremacist...
I know not all black women feel this way but being that there is a "controversy" about Reggie Bush, who is dating a woman that is half Middle Eastern, is really disturbing. Halle Berry, Chaka Khan, and Alfre Woodard all covered Essence when they were married or partnered with white men -- and there were no rants on them. I won't even get into the black men who have covered Essence and have tons of criminal allegations.
Furthermore, no one has read the interview yet. How do folks not known if Essence didn't ask Reggie about dating black women? Why Kim Kardashian? Give the cover a chance! Now, I have heard this image of Reggie is a pic that has already been used...
After this backlash, I know we can never expect a gay (openly) man or woman on the cover of Essence! I can see the comments now, "Why is the devil's spawn on the cover of Essence?!"
